Job Description

The Underwriting Analyst - Intern at Old Republic Professional will work closely with their direct manager and a team of experienced underwriters to master the necessary knowledge to conduct risk evaluations of U.S. companies from all industry classes. The Analyst will address all topics that impact Management Liability insurance, including assessing each company’s financial health, historical performance, operational complexities, exposure to litigation, strategic plans, ownership structure, executive leadership, governance, and emerging risks. Additionally, the Analyst will focus on evaluating a breadth of insurance coverage. The Analyst will learn to develop and present risk evaluations, pricing, and coverage recommendations to senior staff in order to assess risk acceptability. By demonstrating strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of risk assessment, the Analyst will begin to acquire the necessary skills and experience for a career in underwriting.

 

Job Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor's degree. Minimum of 2 years of undergraduate work completed.

Preferred majors: Risk Management, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
