Remote Work: Hybrid, minimum 3 days in the office to promote collaboration and interaction with associates onsite. 

 

Job Description 

The Legal Administrator is responsible for supporting a team of claims attorneys to assist them in

the efficient processing of new claim notices; the opening of new claim files; and in the

management of claim bordereau information. The Legal Administrator will review lawsuits and

communications received from insurance brokers and insureds.

 

Job Responsibilities 

Timely review, opening, and organization of new claim files for notices submitted for

coverage to ORPRO.

• Assist supervising attorneys in identifying potential trends in matters submitted for

coverage to ORPRO.

• Review legal and vendor invoices, prepare check requests, and assist claims counsel in

processing payments.

• Coordinate and complete a wide range of special end-to-end projects as determined by

supervising claims attorneys.

• Assist with excess Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL) claim files, excess Employment

Practice Liability (EPL) claim files, and other low severity claim files as needed under the

supervision of designated claims attorney(s).

• Prepare initial correspondence and reports and effectively track LPL and EPL bordereau

information under the supervision of claims attorney(s).

• Actively monitor and request information for low severity claim files under the supervision

of LPL and EPL claims counsel.


Job Requirements

A bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.

• 2+ years of insurance or law firm experience preferred.

• A basic understanding of insurance, legal, and law firm processes and procedures.

• Experience maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

• Excellent time management skills, including outstanding organization, high level

prioritization, and ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.

• Excellent and efficient written and verbal communication skills.

• A self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively within a team, learning from others

across the organization, yet also comfortable working independently or with limited

supervision as appropriate.

• Advanced technical experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word,

Excel, and PowerPoint

• Experience maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials
