Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000

 

Job Overview

Claims Analyst is an entry-level ORPRO claims handler focused on learning foundational claim handling skills and handling low severity claim files from notice to conclusion with ongoing training, mentorship, oversight, and management by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and document activity for assigned claims, including coverage evaluation, investigation, and consideration of multiple factors to assess potential liability and exposure presented with oversight by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel
  • Knowledge of OR policy forms, industry trends, and issues common to particular lines of insurance
  • Draft insurance coverage correspondence and reports with oversight by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel
  • Communicate claim activity with insureds, brokers, and Company management with oversight by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal and external audiences
  • Refer cases as appropriate to ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel
  • Communicate and collaborate with ORPRO underwriting partners on policy renewals, existing claim developments to support business efforts, and promote client relationships with oversight by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel
  • Consider innovative methods to improve claim efficiencies
  • Coordinate and complete special end-to-end projects as determined by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel


 

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is required
  • 2+ years of relevant insurance, claims-related, or law firm experience
  • Obtain adjuster license(s) or agree to obtain adjuster license(s) and additional training as necessary or required to complete claims handling responsibilities with ongoing training, mentorship, oversight, and management by ORPRO supervisor or designated ORPRO Claims Counsel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and interpretive skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable to changing environment
  • Customer-services and relationship oriented; strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
