An Underwriting Analyst at Old Republic Professional will work closely with a direct manager and a team of experienced underwriters to master the knowledge necessary to conduct risk evaluations of U.S. privately held companies from all industry classes. Analyses will address all topics that impact Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary Liability insurance, including assessing each company’s financial health, historical performance, operational complexities, exposure to litigation, strategic plans, ownership structure, executive leadership, governance, and emerging risks. Additionally, the analyst will focus on evaluating breadth of insurance coverage. The analyst will learn to develop and present risk evaluation, pricing and coverage recommendations internally to the senior staff to evaluate risk acceptability. Underwriting Analysts demonstrating strong analytical capabilities and mastery of risk assessment subject matter will enjoy career growth opportunities in business development and develop the necessary skills and experience for a career in Underwriting.
Bachelor's degree required, with either a major or minor in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field preferred.
Experience reviewing financial statements or familiarity with contracts is preferred but not required.
