Associate Claims Analyst

Remote Work: Hybrid, minimum 3 days in the office to promote collaboration and interaction with associates onsite
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
Job Overview
The Associate Claims Analyst is responsible for supporting a team of claims attorneys to assist them in the efficient processing of new claim notices, opening new claim files, and managing claim bordereau information for Old Republic Professional (ORPRO). The Associate Claims Analyst will review lawsuits and communications received from insurance brokers and insured parties to ensure timely updates to the files.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and efficient processing of new notices submitted to ORPRO, which may involve review of multiple policies and/or complex legal documents and pleadings.
- Identify date of loss, set up file under the appropriate policy with direction from ORPRO Claims Counsel as needed, and utilize independent judgement to escalate any nuanced issues or questions to ORPRO Claims Counsel or ORPRO Claims Management for clarification when necessary.
- Develop familiarity with professional liability and management liability insurance policies to effectively understand policy wording.
- Identify and analyze material information in a file to determine escalation to ORPRO Claims Management.
- Assist ORPRO supervising Claims Counsel in analyzing and identifying potential trends in matters submitted for coverage to ORPRO.
- Review legal and vendor invoices, prepare check requests, and assist ORPRO Claims Counsel in processing payments.
- Coordinate and complete a wide range of special projects from start to finish, as directed by ORPRO supervising Claims Counsel.
- Assist and handle assigned excess Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL) files, excess Employment Practice Liability (EPL) files, and other low severity files as needed with oversight from ORPRO supervising Claims Counsel.
- Prepare initial correspondence and reports and effectively track LPL and EPL bordereau
- Information with oversight from ORPRO supervising Claims Counsel.
- Actively monitor and request information for low severity files with oversight from ORPRO
- supervising Claims Counsel.
- The Associate Claims Analyst has the option of taking the adjuster licensing exam to enhance their ability to handle excess LPL and EPL files.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
- 2+ years of insurance or law firm experience preferred.
- A basic understanding of insurance, legal, and law firm processes and procedures.
- Experience maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Excellent time management skills, including outstanding organization, high level prioritization, and ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent and efficient written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively within a team, learning from others across the organization, yet also comfortable working independently or with limited supervision as appropriate.
- Advanced technical experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
