    Job Type: Full Time


    As an Underwriting Assistant you will support a team of management liability underwriters to provide excellent customer service to our broker clients. The primary duties include quoting, binding and policy issuance for new and renewal business, file administration and customer service, enabling underwriters to focus on business production and underwriting quality while assisting in various aspects of the workflow processes.

    Secondary objectives will be to administratively support a small office (e.g., mail, supplies, etc.) as needed and provide marketing and event planning support as needed.

    Essential Functions:

    • Liaise with underwriters to create quotes, binders, non-renewal letters, policies, endorsements and other relevant documents based on underwriting rules and/or guidelines
    • Ensure completeness of all submissions and reach out to brokers as needed for information
    • Liaise with underwriters and brokers as needed to communicate account status and complete outstanding subjectivities
    • Generate broker correspondence in electronic format (e-mail) related to transaction processing
    • Quality control to ensure accuracy of work (e.g., exposure bases, limits, coverage extensions and/or any modifications, data input)
    • Create and maintain electronic files for accounts
    • Generate Loss Runs and facilitate Non-disclosure Agreement negotiations, when requested
    • Rate premium changes for premium bearing change requests
    • Generate reporting on a scheduled and ad hoc basis to support workflow and business generation
    • Provide support in planning/organizing marketing events
    • Help maintain adequate supply levels for office

    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
    • Desire to learn and understand our insurance product offerings
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
